Clinton and Sanders and the End of the Road — Whatever

June 9, 2016

So let’s talk about last night. 1. OSCAR Week 2015 finds me refectiuve about past OSCARWeeks.

The history of the Oscars reflects the history of the world each year.

Gil Cates produced more Oscar shows than anyone and he used to regularly point out how anyone from the future wanting to know  who we were could do worse than watching the annual Oscar telecast to see what we were watching, what we laughed at, what kind of fashion and music ruled the day and so on.

So Oscars 2015 reeflects the world we live in with ISIS (have you noticed that ISIS echoes Bill Clinton on where “IS IS”?) and Deflategate but without Brian Williams and Jon Stewart.

Bowl projections: TCU controls playoff fate ahead of Ohio State, Baylor

December 5, 2014

The College Football Playoff committee has spoken and it’s clear TCU will be in the final four if the Horned Frogs can post an impressive win against Iowa State. The move of TCU to third in this week’s ranking ahead of Florida State will make it hard for Ohio State or Baylor to pass the Frogs if the top four teams all win.

That doesn’t mean all hope is lost for the Buckeyes or Bears. A Seminoles loss to Georgia Tech would create an opening for one of the teams. There’s a possibility both Ohio State and Baylor could lose to Wisconsin and Kansas State, respectively, which would create even more chaos.

But it’s pretty apparent TCU will be in good shape as long as it avoids the type of performance Baylor had against Texas Tech last week.

Some conferences may not fulfill their allotment. Asterisks denote a replacement…
